Lots of little random watercolor chibi doodles! yay!

Yes that's right, Random late night marvel sketch dump.
I've so been wanting to draw and so not been having time and finally, screw it, you guys get my sketches because I'll never have time to finish anything again *Wibble*
Here are the Valentine (but not really, but they're couples so they count now) Sketches:
( Ultimate Steve/Tony; Bucky/Toro )
( Random stuff including: random stuff, Vamp!Tony, and Miss America -the Superhero not the bimbo- and an unfinished page from an unfinished comic )
( Another Bucky/Toro picture, but serious and somber: warning for Auschwitz )

Here I've collected all the art I scanned and put up in 2008.
Looking at it, I think the major thing that stands out is, I did as much original art as I did for any other fandom. Granted fanart still FAR outweighs original as a whole, but in subcategories, the original art holds its own.
My fanart has also diversified greatly. I think this, along with the large amount of original art (and finished!) reflects growing confidence in my own art style. I really think I pushed by artistic boundaries this year and did more growing as an artist than I've done in a while. Yay!
2008 is also the year of the Chibi-Comics. I think I've found a new love *L* You an expect to see more of these in 2009, for sure *L*
( 125 Works of art from about 14 fandoms + Original works )
2008 also brings a whole new category.
Fanfiction.
Between BSG and Avengers I've written fanfics this year. A lot of fanfics. I minored in creative writing, but I don' usually think of myself as a writer, so the fanfic output was surprising and something I'm proud of ^_
( 21 Fanfics from two fandoms )
So, there you have it, my creative round up of 2008.
I may be adding on more work of art and one more fic before the new Year catches up to Texas.
We'll see.
AND NOW!!! My all time favorite Meme! YAY!
The End of Year Art Meme
(click images to see the larger versions)
( What did I think was my best art? worst? Most disturbing? )
*FOLP OVER* And I'm done.
Omg, I'm glad these two memes only come once a year 0.o
So I'm not sure I'm gonna get any fandom Xmas art out this year :(
We shall see. I'm mean there's still time, I'm just kinda swamped with gift art ^^;;
But for fun, I thought I'd collect all the Harry Potter Christmas Art I'd done from over the years:
The years might be a little off, but I think this is pretty correct.
2003
( MWPP+L+S dress as characters from A Christmas Carol )
( Lily, James, and Baby Harry )
2004
( Peter's Christmas )
( MWPP on a roof )
( MWPP + House elves )
2005
( Harry, Ron, Hermione, Ginny, Neville, Luna, Draco )
2006
( Snape LOVES the Holiday )
2007
( Andromeda, Narcissa, Bellatrix, and little Sirius )
( MWPPL+Tonks+Baby Harry )

So my job involves a bunch of waiting for the damn system to work. Therefore I've gotten some art done. I've got a lot more things sketched and drawn, though the big things was my
yuletart entry, which obviously I can't post yet.
Some other HP art has been done, but I think they can be better, so I'm not posting 'em yet.
This first one Spoils a major thing that happened at the conclusion of this latest marvel story arc and it causes me to want to gnash my teeth and rant about th use of female character in comics *sigh*
( Chibi! Jan -The Wasp- and Steve - Captain America-, G )
( Pen Sketches of Bucky and Captain America, G )
( Chibi Vampire!Tony, and Peter Parker, G )
( Portrait of Tony in pencil, G )

Meh kinda bored, was going through some art archives and such,
I found an old pice of Tom Riddle fanart from before I'd even really begun to read the books (I'd just poked stuff online). I just knew he was meant to look a bit like Harry, so I drew him with glasses *LOL*
Which lead me to see just how many Tom pieces I'd done, I thought I'd be interesting to post 'em since that'll be fanart that scans from 2002 through this year (or last year)
This is what I dug up while at home waiting for my car's oil to be changed.
I'm sure I have more laying about, just not easily findable.
( A Tom Riddle in Ani's art Retrospective )
And there you have it, Tom in my art through the ages
One thing I noticed is that Tom is possibly one of my most consisten character. His looks varies with my style a bit but overal what I'm going for remains the same I think.
For the record, his initial look (which is the first picture up there), especially his hair style, is modeled after my Maternal grandfather. No insult intended, just Pepere had a good "I'm sweet and innocent" look that I thought was a scary counter point to Toms' personality.
Huh I ok this was kinda cool.
Maybe I should do it for anther character that I've drawn more of.
. . Peter maybe . . .

Sometimes it's okay to pimp yourself out. Post a list of your top fiveficart-favorites you've written Drawn, regardless of fandom or the reason you love them. This isn't about the BEST things you've written, but what you LOVE most. Then tag five other people to do the same. Everyone else in the world should do it...
Ok love the most huh. OMG only 5. Guh. 0.o
OK will the 5 I pick today (because tomorrow I'm sure it would be different)
Crossing Over Original Art
I very much like this original piece. It's slightly divergent enough from someof my others to stand out well and I think it's well balanced in terms of color and composition. And I just liked the creepy bugs and the weird little guy. It works for me.
It took a long time to get it to work for me, lots of paint and I had to make two tries at the bridge (it's collaged on) but in the end, it worked. I also like the atmosphere created here. It's . . wonky. It memorable. At least to me.
Autumn's Girl Harry Potter fanart
This watercolor portrait using my sister as a model for Lily (or Ginny) I also think came out well. I like that I pulled of a viable portrait in my looser style and the picture sill looks 100% finished to me. One thing with me looser style is sometimes thing like unfinished, but not this one. This one I nailed. Again it was a case of practice makes perfect as it took two tires before I got it. I think though it's also a wonderful example of what I can do with watercolor and ink, and a very "mature" style for me, as in it shows a maturity in my own style that I'm thrilled to see.
No Harm Done Battlestar Galactica Fanart
A 5 page Battlestar Glaactica comic that I did for
bsgflash. Ok so it's just the pencils, but I still think it's pretty gosh darn good and I'm impressed with myself for getting it done and for not wimping out. It's huge, it was involved, and I had to draw actor likeness, any one of those items can cause me to bail on art, that all three were there and I STILL got something done and by a deadline too, will I'm happy.
And I'm happy with how it came out. There are some areas I'd improve, but overall, I think the art holds. My lettering is utter crap, but whatever.
Spartans Assemble New Avengers Crack!Art
This is the most recent of the bunch, but the only think that intimidates me more than drawing real people is drawing superheros. Because they are so freaking muscular and I just don't . . . visualize people like that. So the fact that I feel I respectably pulled off a mostly naked Captain America, Iron Man, and Spiderman (Ok Spidey is covering up with his cape) just makes me gleeful. Plus it amuses me. A lot. It really really really amuses me. Especially Peter. I love Peter. This may just be a sketch, but it's one of the best surprise THIS WORKED pieces of art I've done this year.
Ok and after much debate my last pick is:
I am NOT a Turtle Harry Potter and TMNT Fanart
Because the Turtle Tots are just *too* cute and Voldemort is just *too* funny, and aesthetically the watercoloring on this really appeals to me. Which is funny because when I first did his, I wasn't thrilled with it, but now when I look at the watercolor technique here, I think it's really gorgeous, particularly the effects in the background. So it combines cute overdose, with funny, with good watercolor. I gotta love it.
Runners up were:
Olivia Benson
Collection of HP Characters
EEK!
Hermione Packing Her Trunk
Intimidation
Rat to Rat

These are eight separate cards 7/12 by 5 inches. I don't know how much I'll be selling 'em for. I do know I'll sell individuals and then a few sets for slightly cheaper than if you bought one of each (because that is how sets work right =P). Not even sure yet how many I'll make. Depends on what I can afford versus what I think I can sell. They'll be on card stock paper.
Kinda excited. I've never done this before ^__^
Oh and yeah they are exclusive to Portus.
You know I draw the initial sketches for these almost 3 years ago? They needed some tuning up (especially James OMG James looked AWFUL). It was kinda interesting comparing the old sketches to the tune ups. I figured tuning these up was way faster than whole knew pictures!
I've got 4 more actually, but they were so generic I figured I couldn't explain who they were without infringing on a trademark =P
I think the ones above are generic enough that I'm not infringing on a trademark (which means I can have them in the Art Swap), but at the same time an HP fan can guess who I might have been inspired by ^__^

Ok that was so much fun for Battlestar lets also collect all my Harry Potter comics done over the years.
( 16 strips, 3 multipage comics )
Three Page Peter and Regulus Comic: Become
Unletterd 9 Page MWPP comic
5 Page comic: Dandelion Wishes
OMG! THIS IS SO OLD!!!
So yup, that's everything I could find with text in it for Harry Potter
errr . . . except on 20 page completed Snape and Peter comic based on the fanfic 'Bargians' by Gehayi, which AFAK, is still slated to go into a fanzine, by Chupa, but I don't know when, but she asked us not to publically post 'em until it's printed.
ETA, Aside from the ammitedly attention whoring look tthe last two posts have, I'm really kinda proud because I hadn't realized I'd done all of these over the years (and BSG) and one thing that hold me back from a fanzine is thinking of the work and so these two posts are kinda up to go LOOK STUPID you practically ALREADY have both an HP AND a BSG fanzine, you just need to bloody lay it out, or if you don't like the *really* old HP stuff, do new stuff, but you do so make enough stuff to warrent a cute fanzine *kicks own butt*

You know, work breaks are not long enough for me to do Meme Answer Part II, but I go tnothing else, but then I thought HEY why not put all my Battlestar Galactica Comics done so far in one post, 'cause there are more than just the ones I've done recently.
Plus I already posted a good amount of 'em on bsg_graphics, so it's a quick post to make =P
Teaser:

Sketch Commissions are done
You know those Commissons I took a bit more than a year ago . .. I actually
finished 'em, which means I will finally mail 'em out, if people still want to pay for 'em.
I can't apologize enough that it took this long to get these out, and really I have no excuse other than once mom helped me out financially, I just kept putting these off. *sigh*
But I have actually finished 'em.

Now this is embaressing. I think this was meant as a christmas present, I totally missed the deadline period, and I can't find my original notes to figure out why commissioned it. I don't think it was paid for.
With smaller commissions like this,I usually don't take money until I am finished with the art; however, if it was, please let me know and I will refund it, if you want.
For ? ( Slughorn and Dumbledore )
Ok so that should clear up most of my commissions left over from last year. If anyone has paid for a commission and either never got the art or never got their money back *please* tell me. I think I've gotten all the sketch commissions done and I've refunded the one none sketch commission which I'm pretty sure was eaten by the post office (which would be This one, god bless the US mail -_-)
As for none sketch commissions, so far as I know, only two of these went unfinsihed:
birgitriddleI'm still have yours half done, let me know though if you are still interested in it.
bodgei are you still interested in a commission at all? I can't find that I ever got starte on your -_-
I think that clear up every commission I fell on my face on last year or so. Please let me know though if I overlooked something.
Again, my apologies. I usually try and get commissions done with in two to four months, and that just did not happen with these. Nor have I *ever* missed a deadline before, not even with school, so I'm really embarressed about all this. *head desk*
And also because of this, I'm now closed for any future commissions until i figure out a way to sort out what happened and make sure I never flake like this again -_-
