My mom, just a few days into dealing with me. She's done a wonderful job these last 30 years and I couldn't be more thankful to have a wonderful mother like her :)
She taught me how to be strong when needed. She showed me how much a woman can do and that yes, we can be leaders, we can be in charge. She showed my that "motherhood" doesn't need to replace a career. And she showed me that it's ok to ask for help if I need it. She showed me the importance of hard work and how, if we try, we really can do what we want in the end.
So thank you mom, for everything.
( Awesome mom )
A few of the finished bookmarks that will be for sale for $5.00 at the Dallas Comic Con (May 19th-20th). I'm so happy, I'm actually getting this done a head of time. :) I'll scan more as I have time.
Heck, I may even have time to red the Cap one and fix the flag. You should see the sad eyes I'm getting for that ^^
I needed a graphic for the Dallas Comic Con website (Which I have a table at, have I mentioned that enough yet XD). This isn't it, but this portrait was the bases for the graphic. Crossing my fingers and hoping I get up on the website XD
But yeah pretty much I wear this outfit once a convnetion. It's just missing my bowler hat and cthulu.
Title Just To Be There
Rating G
Characters Primary: Bucky/Natasha, Secondary: Toro/Anne & their baby
Word Count 1470
Notes Takes place after Bucky's "funeral" but before the start of Winter Soldier and it is free of spoilers.
Also, this fic assumes Anne uses the Horton cells to reverse her aging (like Spitfire did). One day I will write that fic so I can just link to it. But anyway, that's my hand-wavey, Marvel, crack-science explanation for why she's young enough to have a baby again. And finally
tacoma_trauma part of this is for you, and I think you'll know which part ;)
Summery Letting everyone things he's dead means Bucky misses out on some pretty big changes in his the lives of his friends. So he puts his skills to use to at least do what he can.
( Bucky slumped down in his seat as he watched Toro jump about the stag )

Title Pay Back
Rating G
Characters Bucky and Toro
Ships It's gen, but I mean it could be shippy up to you
Word Count 1,744
Notes This is based on something my dad did to me. Thanks dad.
Summery Bucky isn't feeling well and Toro could be a good, supportive friend, or he could pay Bucky back a bit for all the pranks pulled over the years. Hard choice, right?
( Bucky wasn't pale because he'd been spending too much time covered nearly head to toe in a costume but because a simple virus had done what so many super villains had failed to do, laid Captain America low )

Non-Spoiler Thoughts
This movie works as part of a whole. IMHO Marvel's undisputed brilliance of harkening back to days of serial movies shines here. I don't think Avengers could have worked as a stand alone movie. There's too much insanity to explain and introduce and it would have been overwhelming. But as the final installment in a 6 movie serial, after we've seen the stories of each of the players already and know them, it's exactly IMHO the pay off everything has been building up to. We've me the characters, so the issues that could have been there with motivations and characterization are lessened because I think it's clear that this not going to be as about that as other movies. I mean it's impossible for it to be. But as a Grand Finale to a 6-part serial movie, OMG it's fantastic. It is great. It is every bit the team up you could want, and again, as viewed as the last part of a story, the climax, it works.
If, though, you go into this having seen none of the other 5, I don't think it would wok even half as well because there's not explanation for Stark tech, or Bruce, or Steve, etc, etc, etc. They're just there. So this is not IMHO a stand alone movie by any means.
It is however a great ending and a it's a great ride.
Oh and Black Widow? She rocks. I was pleased.
Oh and also, if you think you don't like Ultimate Steve, but did like this Steve, guess what? That's Ultimate Steve's characterization. And Tony's, and Clint's, and even Natasha's if you ignore later volumes of stupid -_- It is also Bruce's, but not from Ultimates. Bruce was a huge jerk, a selfish petty little man and I thank the writers immensely for not giving us that. IMHO fro Hulk to work, Banner must be hugely sympathetic, so the characterization in Ultimates just IMHO didn't work. Marvel must have realized it too because later, in Ultimate Human, Banner is much more as seen here. But yeah pretty much, this is an Ultimates movie. And I was a happy fangirl!
( Spoilers Below: Big Horrible Could-Ruin-Important-Moments Spoilers )
So that's my thoughts post Avengers.
Oh well that and this movie better get a freaking special effects Oscar -_-
One question though. I'd heard there was a surprise Avenger cameo…. Did I miss something or did it not really exist?
Wait, no ok one more last thing. Anyway, let me stress AVOID SPOILERS. Really. Avoid them. It's better that way IMHO and I'm a spoiler junkie.

STAY UNTIL THE END! THE VERY VERY VERY VERY END!
There's something after the first portion of credits, but then there is another something at the end of all the credits. Just FYI.
Today I do not go to work. Today I spend with my husband and best friend watching Marvel movies in a theater and end with Avengers.
It is sooooooo much better than going to the office.
In other news, and expected this to be repeated, ill be at Boomerang Comics for free comic book day.
Pretty much the one day of the year that you ate sure to get free art from me :)

I never use Scrapbook, but I think people who pay for a service should, you know, know when that service gets severely diminished. Via

Alright, I am not drunk enough to deal with this, so I'm just going to put out this PSA:
Livejournal Scrapbook is going away.Your 10GB of Paid Member space is now 2GB. If you care, there is an explanation in Russian on the Russian news page. There's also a user-submitted translation. Since posting this it looks like we won't loose space, and there is now an English version, finally.
+ You will no longer have access to your Scrapbook once this goes live.
+ Your images will redirect, but the URL will be different.
+ Unable to tell what will happen to any photos you have that put you over the 2GB limit.
+ Back up your Scrapbook just in case.
+ If you want your photos transferred over now instead of waiting, let them know here.
